In an impressive span of 24 minutes, the Eagles not only escaped with their first win of the season over a division rival, but pulled into the wild-card race in a wide-open NFC with a 33-25 come-from-behind victory over the Redskins at FedEx Field.

Donovan McNabb completed 20 of 28 passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns in one of his best outings of the season. Meanwhile, Brian Westbrook racked up 183 total yards and three touchdowns, including a scintillating 57-yard touchdown run off a screen pass in the fourth quarter, as he dedicated the performance to his uncle, William Torney, who was laid to rest the previous day.

The offensive surge began late in the third quarter when L.J. Smith atoned for a fumble earlier in the game with an 8-yard touchdown reception, his first of the season, to cut the Redskins lead to 15-13. Early in the fourth quarter, after the Redskins answered back with a Keenan McCardell 6-yard touchdown catch, Reggie Brown also found the end zone for the first time this year with a gorgeous twisting catch from 45 yards out.

Leading 22-20, Washington had the chance to cushion their slim lead with a second-and-goal at the Eagles' 1-yard line and only 4:31 remaining in the fourth quarter. However, after a pair of Clinton Portis runs sandwiched around a false start penalty, the Redskins settled for a field goal.

The Eagles capitalized two plays after the ensuing kickoff. McNabb deftly avoided the Redskins pass rush and dumped the ball off to Westbrook, who with some timely blocks was able to scamper 57 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. Westbrook capped off the rally with a 10-yard scoring run with 2:18 to play. Washington allowed the touchdown so they could get the ball back with a chance to tie.

Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell threw a career-high three touchdown passes, but he could not engineer a game-tying drive as his pass on fourth-and-15 was incomplete.

RB Brian Westbrook scored on a 57-yard screen pass with 3:16 left in the game to put the Eagles ahead 26-25. Westbrook caught the ball at the Eagles' 40-yard line around the right hashmark and was off. Thomas Tapeh, Shawn Andrews, Jon Runyan, L.J. Smith and Reggie Brown all chipped in huge blocks on the highlight-reel touchdown.
