Quarterback Donovan McNabb shed his knee brace and unleashed an offensive assault that rewrote the record books in a 56-21 win over the Detroit Lions.

McNabb, who played for the first time without a brace on his surgically repaired right knee, completed a career-high 80.8 percent of his passes for 381 yards and four touchdowns. For the first time in his career, McNabb finished with a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating. Wide receiver Kevin Curtis caught his first three touchdown passes as an Eagle, all in the first half, as he totaled 221 receiving yards.

Running back Brian Westbrook rushed for 110 yards, had 111 receiving yards and three touchdowns en route to NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Westbrook and Curtis made NFL history as the first pair of teammates to each score three touchdowns in the first half of a game. They also became the second duo to each exceed 200 total yards in a single game (Oakland's Art Powell and Clem Daniels, 1963).

On the same weekend the Eagles honored the 75th Anniversary Team and displayed the yellow and blue throwback jerseys, a tribute to the colors worn by the first-ever Eagles team in 1933, the offense scored a franchise-record 42 first-half points, including a touchdown on each of its first five possessions.

The defense also had a memorable performance, as they sacked Lions quarterback Jon Kitna nine times, which tied the second-highest single game total in team history. Defensive end Trent Cole, who led the NFL in sack through the first three games, paced the Eagles with a career-high 3.5.

Despite the fact that the Eagles surrendered 446 passing yards to what was at the time the league's top-rated aerial attack, the Lions scored zero points in the second half.

"I think everybody stepped up because we knew that our leader was under a lot of heat. Everyone stepped up and I think that made him focus a bit more too. He made a lot of big plays for us."
- Tackle William Thomas on Quarterback Donovan McNabb

Kevin Curtis caught his third touchdown pass of the first half, a beautiful bomb from Donovan McNabb that found Curtis all alone along the left sideline. The score ran the Eagles lead to 35-7 and though Detroit would make some noise with a pair of touchdowns, it would never get closer than 14 points again.
