Hometown Hero

In appreciation of the overwhelming show of patriotism by our fans, the Philadelphia Eagles are working to honor Eagles fans serving in the military as our Hometown Heroes. We would like to acknowledge your friend or family member whose bravery and strength make them deserving of special recognition.

Pre Season Game vs. Baltimore (8/11) 

Technical Sergeant Roberto Brabham  

Sgt Brabham is a dedicated and decorated Sergeant, he has deployed 3 times in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Throughout each deployment he has supported the Air Force's international humanitarian outreach missions. As a citizen airman, he lives the Air Force's core values of Integrity, Service & Excellence as a youth mentor within his community. He recently achieved a lifelong goal and graduated with honors from Immaculata University in Chester County

 

Pre Season Game vs. Cleveland (8/25)

Staff Sergeant Steve Mervine

Staff Sergeant Mervine was born and raised in Pennsylvania.  He currently works  Full time in the PA Army National Guard Human Resources Office as an Human  Resources Sergeant.  He have served over 10 years in the Army.  He has completed a tour in Bosnia and two Combat Tours to Iraq and has many awards and decorations.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. NY Giants (9/25)

First Class Petty Officer Jesse Jordan was honored as the Dietz & Watson Hometown Hero for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants game on Sunday, September 25th, 2011. First Class Petty Officer Jordan has served for 15 years completing tours in various locations including on the USS LaSalle while stationed in Italy, at the Naval Support Activity both Italy and Turkey, and on the USS Tarawa based in San Diego, California. Recently he has returned from a one year long deployment in Kabul, Afghanistan. During his time in service he has completed his Associates Degree and is currently working on his Bachelors.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers (10/2)

Petty Officer 1st Class Joshua Decker was honored as the Dietz & Watson Hometown Hero during the Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers game on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011. Petty Officer Decker is from Sellersville, PA and has served in the Coast Guard for over 11 years. Petty Officer Decker is currently stationed at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia where he conducts inspections of foreign ships. He has earned the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, the Coast Guard Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Armed Forces Service Medal. He recently has been selected as the Coast Guard Service Member of the Year by the Liberty USO.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Chicago Bears

Petty Officer Michael Rodriguez was honored as the Dietz & Watson Hometown Hero for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Chicago Bears game on Monday, November 7, 2011. Petty Officer Michael Rodriguez serves as an Aviation Support Equipment Technician Second Class, Aviation Warfare, Surface Warfare based out of Joint Base MDL. In 2010 Petty Officer Rodriguez volunteered for a 10-month deployment in Kuwait where he worked for the Port of Debarkation, supervising eight Sailors of various ratings and specialties. He is committed to community service and while serving in Kuwait volunteered over 110 for the USO. In addition, he is the base liaison for the Ocean County Hunger Relief and assists Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ocean County. Petty Officer Rodriguez has been selected as the United States Navy Service Member of the Year by the Liberty USO.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Arizona Cardinals (11/13)

Sergeant Michael Deibert was honored as the Dietz & Watson Hometown Hero for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Arizona Cardinals game on Sunday, November 13th, 2011. Sergeant Michael Deibert, a native from Northampton, PA, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in January of 2004. Sgt Deibert has been stationed in Camp Lejeune, the Pentagon and currently the Inspector-Instructor staff in Allentown, PA. He has served in two tours in Iraq from 2005-2007.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots (11/27)

Staff Sergeant Matthew S. Spittler was honored as the Dietz & Watson Hometown Hero for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots game on Sunday, November 27h, 2011. Staff Sergeant Matthew S. Spittler is currently serving as a Tactical Air Control Party member, 148th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. Sergeant Spittler was born in Chambersburg, PA and graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 2000. SSgt Spittler recently deployed to Jalalabad, Afghanistan in support of combat operations for OEF from November 2010 through May 2011 as a Tactical Air Control Party Member. SSgt Spittler is currently enrolled as a full time student at West Chester University.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets (12/18)

Sergeant First Class Richard Aston was honored as the Dietz & Watson Hometown Hero for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets game on Sunday, December 18th, 2011. Sergeant First Class Richard Aston is originally from St. Louis, MO and now resides in Fort Dix, New Jersey. SFC Aston has served with distinction for 22 years in the United States Army. He has served in several overseas and stateside locations. He has 4 combat tours to Iraq.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins (01/01)

1st Sergeant Michael Buckles was honored as the Dietz & Watson Hometown Hero for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins game on Sunday, January 1st, 2012. 1st Sergeant Michael Buckles is a native of Allentown, PA and has honorably served his country for 17 years. He has deployed 5 separate times in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Throughout his time in the Marine Corps, 1st Sgt. Buckles has trained over 15,000 recruits, supervised over 150 personnel and 200 piece of tactical equipment and led his Marines and Sailors in the disaster relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina. He volunteers for Keystone Wounded Warriors and was selected as Liberty USO’s Marine Corps Service Member of the Year.

During the season, we will post pictures of our local service men and women on our website to help family members and friends honor Eagles fans in the military. We'll include as many photographs as possible. With the help of the USO, at each of the team's home games this season the Eagles will recognize a member of the military who has recently returned from overseas duty. In recognition of our weekly Hometown Heros Dietz and Watson will make a $1,000 donation to the USO.
