Recycling & Composting

  • Since 2003, the Eagles have recycled and composted more waste than 1,900 Americans create each year.
  • Eagles Go Green!recycling and composting programs have diverted more than 3,132,000 lbs. of waste from going into landfills. This amount would cover approximately nine football fields, one foot deep with waste.
  • Recycling saves energy and protects our climate. In 2010, the Philadelphia Eagles recycled more than 360,000 lbs. of bottles and cans. This saves 3,027 million BTU, the equivalent of 24,238 gallons of gasoline - an amount that could run your car for 40 years.
  • •\In 2010, the Eagles recycled more than 280,000 lbs. of paper and cardboard. Recycling this amount of paper is equivalent to saving about 8 trees.
  • The Eagles recycling and composting efforts have prevented the release of more than 6,823 metric tons of greenhouse gas into our atmosphere. This is equal to:
    • Removing 1,338 cars from the road for a year.
    • The annual amount CO2 sequestered by 1,455 acres of forest
    • Offsetting the CO2 emissions created by the annual electricity use of 851 homes.
    • Offsetting the CO2 emissions created by using 764,910 gallons of gasoline.
