Eagles Visit My Brother's House

On Tuesday, December 29, 2009 Philadelphia Eagles linebackers Akeem Jordan and Joe Mays joined offensive tackle Winston Justice to volunteer at My Brother's House located in Philadelphia. The players spent time visiting with and serving lunch to the men of the Safe Haven Program at My Brother's House.

The Safe Haven Program at My Brother's House provides low demand services to 20 dislocated, mentally ill, and socially isolated men who, as a result of their disabilities, are unable to negotiate for themselves necessary health and sheltering needs. Residents are provided a safe abode, three meals a day, snacks and clothing.Tuesday is a traditional day off for players in the NFL; a chance to escape the rigors of practice and watching tape. However several players choose to spend their day off working to help in their local community.
