What Moves U? Comes to Northley Middle School Rookie Tight End, Brent Celek, paid a visit to Northley Middle School in Aston, Pennsylvania on Tuesday as part of the Eagles "What Moves U?" program, presented by the State of Pennsylvania's "Balance Campaign." Celek joined students and staff in an interactive physical education class to inspire kids to become more physically active. Before the activities commenced, Celek led a discussion on the importance of staying physical fit, eating healthy, and sleeping well. He also engaged in a short question and answer session where the students were able to ask him questions of their own. Fourteen students were awarded Eagles merchandise and a chance to meet Brent Celek. These lucky students completed outstanding essays on how they stay active.
This visit was one of the many Tuesday community visits Eagles' players make during the season. Tuesday serves as the traditional day off for most NFL players, however many Eagles players use this part of their day to go out and make a positive impact on our community.
The Philadelphia Eagles have partnered with the State of Pennsylvania's "Balance Campaign" to bring the "What Moves U?" anti-obesity program to middle schools in Eastern Pennsylvania. "What Moves U?" will visit four more schools this year to help promote the program to keep students active in the classrooms.
The program, designed by the NFL and the American Heart Association, is aligned with standards required by the PA Department of Education and provides lesson plans for science, social studies, language arts and mathematics, which incorporate physical activity into the classroom.
