Eagles Tackling Breast Cancer Supports Race for the Cure
As part of Tackling Breast Cancer, the team's year-round initiative raising Breast Cancer Awareness, on Mother's Day May 8th the Eagles supported the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to Race for the Cure! Eagles fans from around the area joined staff, cheerleaders, and team owner and President of Eagles Youth Partnership, Christina Weiss Lurie, and participated on raceday.
Thanks to everyone who helped by racing virtually or in person, and all of our fans who donated money. Remember, whether you pick either of these as your means of support or another way, we ask that you help this cause in any way you can. It's a tough fight, but together, we can Tackle Breast Cancer.
Tackling Breast Cancer - October 2004
When we announced our Tackling Breast Cancer initiative last October, everyone here at the Eagles was overwhelmed by the amazing support we received from our fans and our community for the cause. We saw that directly or indirectly, we've all been impacted by the threat of this disease to our whole community. As a team, strengthened by the amazing passion of our fans, we chose to take a stand against it.
Through Tackling Breast Cancer last October, the Eagles raised over $200,000 for Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania through sales of pink Eagles hats. The initiative was so successful that we were honored to see it raise awareness of breast cancer on a national scale, as the pink hat and the Tackling Breast Cancer campaign were featured on the broadcasts of ESPN and FOX.
