Eagles Players Build Bears for Toys for Tots
On Tuesday, November 28, Philadelphia Eagles kicker David Akers, linebacker Shawn Barber and their families visited Build-A-Bear Workshop. The group dropped by the workshop in the Cherry Hill Mall and built bears that would be donated to needy children this holiday season. Akers, Barber and their families built some very special bears dressed in full Eagles player and cheerleader uniforms. The bears will be donated to the "Toys for Tots" Book and Toy Drive that will be held prior to the Eagles vs. Panthers game on Monday night.
Fans can also do their part to show how the Power of One can brighten up the Holidays for many children in the Philadelphia area by bringing a new, unwrapped book or toy to Lincoln Financial Field when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Carolina Panthers on Monday, December 4. All toys donated will be distributed to children through the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program. All books collected will be donated to children through Eagles Youth Partnership Book Mobile.
Collection bins will be placed outside all entrances to Lincoln Financial Field beginning at gate opening and ending after kickoff.
Power of one" reflects the special unity that exists between the fans and the team. It signifies how as "one" we are strong and can accomplish great things. And, how each "one" of us can make a positive difference in the community and the world we live in.
