Eagles Win 11 ADDY's!

"You Can't Script" 11 ADDY Wins...

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Eagles were honored with eleven awards last night at the 2005 Philadelphia ADDY Awards. The annual competition, which recognizes the Philadelphia advertising industry's best campaigns, announced its winners at a celebration at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. In total, the Eagles captured 5 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze ADDYS as well as the "Best In Television" award for the organization's "You Can't Script This Stuff" campaign.

In August, the Eagles launched "You Can't Script This Stuff," the season-long marketing campaign that celebrated the remarkable passion of the team's fans. In the campaign, real Eagles fans preached about their love for the team and told tales of devotion and perseverance throughout the years. The campaign's success led to the team's "one" campaign that was featured throughout the playoffs.

The strategy and creative was conducted in-house by the Eagles Marketing and Broadcast Departments. The directors were The Odiorne Brothers, Jeff and Peter, whose works include Reebok, NFL, and Pennsylvania Lottery. NFL Films, in conjunction with The Odiorne Brothers' production company, Phasmatrope, produced the campaign.

"The Philadelphia Addy award is the most prestigious of its type in the region. We are proud to be recognized amongst such talented competition," said Eagles Senior Vice President of Business Operations Mark Donovan. "Receiving eleven ADDYS is a tribute to the passion of our fans and the pride we take in showcasing it."

The ADDY Awards competition is the industry's largest and most representative annual competition for creative excellence. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the awards honor excellence in advertising and cultivate the highest standards in the industry. The three-tiered competition begins at the local level with the Philadelphia Ad Club and the 210 AAF member clubs nationwide. Local Gold winners are automatically forwarded to 14 regional competitions. District Gold winners are then forwarded to the National competition.
