Janice Winston – American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter – Janice Winston is a Red Cross responder and a Be Ready Cross Ready facilitator: she helps fire victims find the resources to put their lives back together, provides services to members of the armed forces, mentors fellow volunteers, and teaches the community fire safety information, and participates as a responder to the Disaster Action Team in Philadelphia. On this Disaster Action Team, Janice routinely visits victims of house fires in the Philadelphia region. After one particularly fatal fire earlier this fall, the grieving community appointed Janice as the Red Cross representative at their meeting. She was later recognized for poise and solidarity throughout these difficult times. On a national level, Janice has been a responder to large-scale disasters; she spent seven weeks on three separate deployments immediately following Hurricane Katrina.

John Carrow – American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter – John Carrow is the Chair Emeritus of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter's Board of Directors. In his tenure, Carrow has been instrumental in the development and growth of 15 Red Cross after-school clubs in impoverished city neighborhoods, influential in his work with information technology in response to post-9/11 emergency preparedness, and crucial in his fundraising efforts for the Red Cross House and various world-wide disasters. The after-school programs encourage leadership and teach safety skills to children in low-income neighborhoods. His post-9/11 computer program coordinated remote operation sites with community emergency responders. Through his fundraising efforts, he helped launch the Red Cross House – a short-term housing facility and service center for disaster victims. He also helped raise 50 million dollars for victims of the Southern Asia tsunami and Gulf Coast hurricanes.

Grant Rawdin – People's Emergency Center (PEC) – Grant Rawdin volunteered for ten years at People's Emergency Center on the Board of Directors. He continues to be an active member to this day. Throughout his time there, he became the Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee where he led several site visits to evaluate promising models and various approaches to homeless services and community development – not just throughout Philadelphia, but in New Jersey and New York, as well. His dedication and commitment extend beyond his generous donations and countless hours, Grant also inspires his employees to donate about $3,000 worth of toys, books, and clothes every year to PEC. He strongly believes that all families deserve a chance to be economically independent. And during his time as a Board member, nearly 300 families obtained permanent housing.

Eleanor Rust – CONTACT Cape Atlantic – Eleanor Rust volunteers every day at CONTACT Cape-Atlantic – calling over 60 elderly and disabled living people in this area to check in on them and see how they are doing. If they do not pick up her phone call, she checks the local hospital to see if her client is there. If the client is not there either, she notifies the emergency backup person that the client has been unreachable all day. Over the years, Eleanor has developed a trusting and caring relationship with her clients so they recognize and appreciate when she calls. Besides placing calls for CONTACT, she also assists with the monthly newsletter mailings, helps the senior citizens with their income tax filings, and financially supports the agency. Eleanor also volunteers at her local library and church.
