2017 DANCE PREP WORKSHOP

PARKING:There is no fee for parking. Turn onto Darien Street and make a right into the parking lot. Park in the "L" Lot.

*Please note: The Open Call registration fee is waived for contestants that attend the optional Audition Prep Workshop and/or Dance Prep Workshop.

The Dance Prep Workshop is designed specifically for women who are interested in auditioning and would like to get more acquainted with the Eagles Cheerleaders style of choreography. This intense three hour dance class will concentrate solely on the dance aspect of the audition. It is a great way to get in your best “dance shape” for the Eagles Cheerleaders audition process, and it is especially helpful if you advance to the semi-final and/or final audition. The Dance Prep Workshop dance techniques and dance combinations will be taught by Eagles Cheerleaders Choreographer, Suzy Zucker. Current members of the squad will also be on hand to demonstrate and assist.


THE DANCE PREP WORKSHOP WILL INCLUDE:


    • - The actual Open Call Audition dance routine will be taught at this workshop

    • - Dance combinations in the style similar to the combinations that will be taught at the Semi-Final and Final Audition

    • - Dance techniques to improve kicks, turns, and overall stage presentation

    • - Across the floor choreography

    • - Stretches that the Eagles Cheerleaders do to increase flexibility

  • - Eagles Cheerleaders dance warm-up


REQUIREMENTS FOR AUDITIONS AND PRE-AUDITION WORKSHOPS: You must be 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate. 2017 high school graduates are NOT eligible.

What happens when I arrive at the Workshops?
Upon arrival, participants will check in at the registration desk, sign a waiver, and be directed to the workshop area.


Will there be judging or elimination rounds at the workshops?
There won’t be judging or elimination rounds at the workshops. The workshops were created to enable contestants to learn and prepare for the auditions in an encouraging, non-competitive environment.


What should I wear?
Participants should wear a sports bra, lycra shorts and sneakers or dance sneakers for the workshops. We suggest wearing nude hosiery with your outfit and wearing a warm-up over the outfit while registering and for the non-dance aspects of the workshops.


Can I bring family or friends?
The workshops are closed to the public. Only contestants will be granted access.


What should I bring with me?
You should bring bottled water and snacks with you. There will also be water stations available for your convenience. Do not bring valuables with you. There will not be a place to store valuables.

*By attending either workshop, you will be automatically registered for the Open Call Audition and the Open Call Audition Fee will be waived.

THE AUDITION PREP WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

  • - Participate in a mock audition directed by Barbara Zaun, Eagles Director of Cheerleading. This gives you the opportunity to rehearse the NEW modeling walk that is a portion of the open call audition and practice the open call dance routine in the NEW audition room location (the Touchdown Club) without being judged. Find out from the director how this year’s open call audition will be conducted, what the judges are looking for and how this year’s scoring process works.

  • - Rehearse the Open Call Audition routine with Eagles Cheerleaders Choreographer Suzy Zucker. Suzy will work with you on showmanship, posture, musicality, and technique to refine your skills in order to perform the Open Call Audition routine at the level that is expected at the Open Call Audition.

  • - Tour the Eagles Cheerleaders Locker Room & Dance Studio, and sidelines of the field where the Eagles Cheerleaders perform on game days – envision yourself as a member of the squad!

  • - Consult with hair and make-up experts from Joseph Anthony Retreat Spa and Salon, the Preferred Salon of the Eagles Cheerleaders, to find out how to style your hair and wear your make-up for the audition process. Learn how to replicate the glamour look that they give the Eagles Cheerleaders for game day, as well as their trading cards and calendar shoot.

  • - Meet with the 2016-2017 Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders during a conversational Q&A session to learn their audition tips and advice for a successful audition, including what to wear. They will also answer any questions you may have and share their experiences as NFL Cheerleaders including information on game day performances, media interviews, goodwill military tours, photo sessions, rehearsals, public appearances and much more!

What happens when I arrive at the Open Call Audition?
Upon arrival, contestants will check in at the registration desk, sign a waiver, and receive a contestant number. Contestants will then learn a short dance routine and review the modeling portion of the audition. Contestants that learned the routine at the audition prep workshop or dance prep workshop can use this time to rehearse. There will be time for all contestants to rehearse prior to being judged.


What will I be asked to do during the Audition and what is the Judging Criteria?
There are two parts to the Open Call Audition: Modeling and Dance. The panel of judges will score on physical fitness, confidence, beauty, dance technique/execution, retention of choreography, and showmanship. There will be 1-2 elimination rounds during the Open Call Auditions.


What should I wear?
Contestants should wear a sports bra, lycra shorts and sneakers or dance sneakers for the audition. We suggest wearing nude hosiery with your outfit and wearing a warm-up over the outfit while registering and waiting to perform. Contestants should wear their hair down and have their make-up done. Any body jewelry should be removed and tattoos should be covered.


When does the Open Call Audition conclude?
Contestants should come prepared to stay the day. The audition is expected to conclude around 4 pm. Contestants remaining after the second elimination round will be invited back the following week to continue with the audition process.


Can I bring family or friends?
The Open Call Audition is closed to the public. Only contestants will be granted access.


What should I bring with me?
You can bring bottled water and snacks with you. There will also be water stations available and a concession stand open for your convenience. We suggest bringing hair and make-up products for touch-ups. Do not bring valuables with you, as there will not be a place to store them.


What if I advance to the semi-finals?
If you are selected as a semi-finalist, you will receive an information packet that explains the remainder of the audition process. You will also have the opportunity to have questions answered during an informative session on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. The following are dates that semi-finalists need to be available:
  • Tuesday, March 21, 2017: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM - Rehearsal/Informative Session
  • Tuesday, April 4, 2017: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM - Semi-Final Elimination Round
*Contestants that advance to the Interview Round will be notified on Friday, April 7, 2017.


What if I advance to the Interview round?
If you advance to the interview round, you will need to be available on the following date:
  • Monday, April 10, 2017: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM - Interviews with Finalists
*Contestants that advance to the Final Audition will be notified on Friday, April 21, 2017.


What if I advance to the finals?
If you are selected as a finalist, you will need to be available on the following dates:
  • Tuesday, May 2, 2017: 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM - Final Audition Dress Rehearsal
  • Monday, May 8, 2017: 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM - Final Audition Show


What if I make the squad?
If you make the 2017 squad you will need to be available on the following date for an Introductory Meeting. At the meeting, the schedule for the year will be discussed. Rehearsals are normally held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

*Most Eagles Cheerleaders have a full-time job or attend college full-time in addition to being an Eagles Cheerleader.
