The Eagles defense simply did not have an answer for the Cowboys multi-faceted offense.

Fresh off of his lucrative contract signing, quarterback Tony Romo compelted 80 percent of his passes, threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a 38-17 win over the Eagles. The Eagles are now 3-5 this season, but more importantly 0-3 against the NFC East only one year after tearing through the division with a 5-1 mark.

Running back Brian Westbrook had another outstanding performance with 155 all-purpose yards. He tied the franchise's all-time single-game record with 14 receptions (Don Looney, 1940). He also scored his sixth touchdown of the season in the first quarter, which at the time tied the game at 7-7. However, the Eagles could not slow down the Cowboys on offense. Dallas converted 8-of-12 third down opportunities as wide receiver Terrell Owens caught 10 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles offense, caught in a shootout, pressed and made too many mistakes to compete. Donovan McNabb threw for 264 yards, but he lost a fumble on the game's first play from scrimmage and threw a pair of interceptions. McNabb's protection forced him to hurry other throws as he was sacked three times.
