Eagles Book Mobile School Visits Site Request Form Eagles Book Mobile Terms and Conditions School Programs The Eagles Book Mobile is a mobile outreach program that visits schools, recreation centers, libraries, and summer camps to read aloud to children and to give away new free books to children from low-income households, many of whom have never owned their own book. The staff aboard the Eagles Book Mobile consists of the StoryBook Man (a costumed actor who reads to the children), the team leader and an additional staff member, who serves as the "Eagles Reading Coach". Eagles football players are not scheduled to be aboard the Eagles Book Mobile.. The Eagles Book Mobile program is inviting requests from organizations that serve elementary school aged students from low-income households. It will accommodate as many sites as possible and will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis, keeping geography in mind. Though we travel to many cities, we must cluster the sites on any particular day to minimize the travel time from site to site. In order to be considered, you must meet the following criteria: At least 80% of the children/students at your site must come from low-income families (as typically measured by the number of students eligible for free or reduced lunch); Your program must be able to host the Eagles Book Mobile during the months of March, April, May or June between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.; If your program is an elementary school, you must provide two (2) second grade OR two (2) third grade classes seated in their respective classrooms. The StoryBook Man will visit each classroom for approximately 25 minutes and books will be provided to the entire second OR third grade. Please keep in mind that the StoryBook Man will not do readings in the school auditorium or school gym. Classrooms cannot be combined for the readings. Additionally, the readings do not take place on the actual Eagles Book Mobile. Students will only have access to the vehicle if time permits; If your program is anything other than an elementary school, you must provide between 30 and 80 children of elementary school age; Adult volunteers must be present to help during the visit (1 adult to every 10 children is required); A safe space is necessary to park the Eagles Book Mobile (The vehicle is a converted mobile home and is 24' long. This is approximately 5 car lengths long.); On-site bathroom facilities must be available to the Eagles Book Mobile staff; If you have read and understand the above program criteria, and are interested in applying for an Eagles Book Mobile visit, please check the box and click submit. You will then need to fill out the site request form in its entirety. I agree to the Eagles Book Mobile Terms and Conditions.
